Benylin Dry Cough Syrup
BENYLIN Dry Coughs contains dextromethorphan which helps to suppress the cough mechanism, and levomenthol, a decongestant which works to help relieve stuffiness in the nose to help make breathing easier. It also contains diphenhydramine which works to help relieve a runny nose. A dry cough is also known as a non-productive cough because it does not produce any phlegm. Dry coughs are caused by an inflammation of the upper airways caused by dust, foreign bodies or an infection.

Suggested Directions: Always read packaging and enclosed leaflet before use. If the person taking this medicine has any medical conditions or is taking other medication consult your pharmacist or doctor before use.
- Dosage: Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Take two 5 ml spoonfuls 3 to 4 times a day
- Not suitable for children under 12 years
- Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. If symptoms persist or worsen, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Do not exceed the stated dose.
Ingredients: The active ingredients in 5ml are: 14mg Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride, 6.5mg Dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 2mg Levomenthol.
Other ingredients are: Liquid glucose, sucrose, ethanol, glycerol, sodium citrate, saccharin sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium benzoate (E211), caramel (E150), raspberry flavour, carbomer, Ponceau 4R (E124) and water.
This product contains 5% ethanol (alcohol).
What else to know: This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcoholic drinks.
Do not use with chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma or emphysema or if the cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm, unless directed by a doctor. Do not take with any other cough and cold medicine.
