- Line up the markers of the Inhaler’s mouthpiece and pull each end in the opposite direction.
- Insert one nicotine plug into the mouthpiece and twist the parts of the mouthpiece to close.
- Each cartridge will provide you with about 40 minutes of intense use. You can divide this time how you like. For example, you could use a cartridge for four 10-minute inhalation periods. Or you could use a cartridge for 10 minutes on waking and then for six periods of five minutes later on in the day.
- Remove the used nicotine plug from the mouthpiece by re-aligning the markers of the mouthpiece to open the mouthpiece.
- Do not exceed dose maximum of 6 cartridges per day.
What else to know: The Nicorette inhaler is used to help smokers ready to stop smoking immediately and also to help smokers who need to cut down their cigarette use before stopping.
The Inhaler can be used for up to 12 weeks using the following steps:
- Step 1: Set a date to quit and stop smoking cigarettes.
- Step 2: Over a period of up to 8 weeks, whenever you get a craving to smoke, you use the Inhaler instead. Aim to use between 3 and 6 cartridges per day. Do not use more than 6 per day.
- Step 3: After 8 weeks much of your smoking routine will have gone. Over the next 2 weeks start to reduce the number of cartridges used per day by half.
- Step 4: During weeks 11 and 12 continue to reduce the number of cartridges per day till you are using none at all.
