The medicated powder can also be used for the treatment of irritating and painful nappy rash. It contains the active ingredient Miconazole. Can be used in conjunction with Daktarin Cream.

Suggested Directions: Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

  • Adults and children of all ages apply the powder to the infected area once or twice daily.
  • Continue treatment until the lesions or rash have completely healed and for up to 10 days after the symptoms have cleared to prevent them from coming back.
  • If symptoms persist talk to your doctor.
  • If Daktarin Antifungal Powder is used with the cream, a once daily application of both formulations is recommended.
  • The duration of therapy can vary from 2 to 6 weeks depending on the localisation and severity of the fungal infection.

Ingredients: Each gram of cutaneous powder contains 2% w/w miconazole nitrate (20mg/g). Other ingredients: talc (E553b), zinc oxide and silica colloidal anhydrous.

What else to know: Do not use Daktarin powder:

  • If you are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines particularly medicines to thin the blood (anticoagulants) such as warfarin. Also includes medicines that you buy without a prescription or herbal medicines.
