Salactol Collodion Paint
Salactol is a collodian wart paint for treating warts, verrucas, corns and calluses. Salactol is suitable for use by adults, children and the elderly. Salactol is a collodian wart paint for treating warts, verrucas, corns and calluses. Salactol is suitable for use by adults, children and the elderly. Suggested Directions: Always read packaging and enclosed leaflet before use. If the person taking this medicine has any medical conditions or is taking other medication consult your pharmacist or doctor before use.
For adults, children and the elderly:
- If you are unsure whether you have a wart, verruca, corn or callus that is suitable for treatment with Salactol, ask your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment.
- Use once daily, usually at night.
- Soak the affected site in warm water for a few minutes then pat dry.
- Gently rub the surface of the wart, verruca, corn or callus with a pumice stone or manicure emery board to remove any hard skin.
- Carefully apply a few drops of Salactol to the lesion and allow each drop to dry before applying the next one. Do not apply excessive amounts.
- Only apply Salactol to the affected area. Take care to protect the surrounding skin.
- Plantar warts should be covered with an adhesive plaster. Leave for 24 hours. Repeat the procedure daily, after first removing any plaster.
Ingredients: The active ingredients are salicylic acid (16.7% w/w) and lactic acid (16.7% w/w). The other ingredients are pyroxylin, colophony, castor oil, industrial methylated spirit and ether.
What else to know: Flammable keep away from open flames.
- Always avoid contact with the eyes, open cuts and grazes and mucous membranes.
- Do not use this gel on your face, neck, breasts, and anal region, genitals or on your armpits.
- Do not use on moles.
- Do not use if you have diabetes or if you have impaired peripheral blood circulation.
- If your skin becomes irritated please discontinue use.
The length of treatment will vary depending on the size and resistance of the wart, verruca, corn or callus. Some warts and verrucas can require up to 12 weeks treatment before they disappear. It is important that you do not give up on the treatment until the wart, verruca, corn or callus has disappeared. If the wart, verruca, corn or callus has not disappeared or is worsening tell your doctor or pharmacist.
